What is the legal duration of a lease in France?


The legal duration for a lease in France depends on the type of lease, furnished or unfurnished.
For unfurnished places, it can be either for 3 years or for 6 years.

Can I leave the flat or house that I rent at any time?


Yes you can leave your flat at any time but you must allow either one month’s notice if you are transferred by your company or 3 months’ notice if you move out for personal reasons. Any notice must be sent by registered mail to the owner or representative.
