Americans in Alsace (AIA)

Americans in Alsace est la seule organisation dans le Bas-Rhin dont l’objectif est de soutenir les familles d’Amérique du Nord résidant dans la région. AIA, dont le siège se trouve à Strasbourg, réunit environ 400 membres originaires des Etats-Unis et du Canada. Elle  accompagne ses membres à la découverte de leur nouveau cadre de vie, et favorise ainsi leur intégration. AIA cherche également à promouvoir les cultures française et alsacienne, tout en véhiculant une image positive de l’Amérique du Nord en France. Les fêtes culturelles chères aux Américains sont célébrées au sein d’AIA, afin de permettre à ses membres de se sentir chez eux. De plus, l’Association offre un solide soutien aux membres qui ne travaillent pas et qui, souvent, ne parlent pas le français, leur évitant ainsi d’êtres isolés. Americans in Alsace améliore chaque jour son offre de services auprès de ses membres. Abonnés à notre bulletin mensuel, The Grapevine, ils sont au courant des évènements locaux et des activités organisées par l’association.  Enfin, ils bénéficient d’un accès à notre forum en ligne d’informations et de questions-réponses.

Americans in Alsace is the only organisation in the Département of Bas-Rhin that offers support for North American families living in the region.  AIA, whose headquarters are in Strasbourg, has about 400 members coming from the United States and Canada.  It helps its members to discover their new environment, and thus to integrate.  AIA also seeks to promote French and Alsatian culture, while also conveying a positive image of North America in France.  The North American celebrations and feast days are also celebrated at AIA, so as to enable its members to feel at home.  In addition, the Association offers strong support for those of its members who do not work and who, often, do not speak French, so as to prevent them from being isolated.  Americans in Alsace is continuously improving the range of services it offers to its members.  As subscribers to our monthly newsletter, The Grapevine, they are kept informed of local events and of the activities organised by the association.  Finally, they have access to our on-line information and question-and-answer forum.
